Handspun from Grace's Grooming Shop
Blending my work and my handspinning hobby, my pet grooming shop gives me access to an incredible variety of dog and cat hair. Through a careful process of washing and carding, and sometimes combining the hair with wool, I can transform clouds of undercoat brushings into the soft chiengora yarn. I hope you enjoy the luxurious side of pet hair in my handknitted accessories and teddy bears!

I have been spinning for around fifteen years. I taught myself to spin with polyester pillow stuffing (not recommended) and a drop spindle made out of a doweling and a plywood disk. Many kilometers of fiber later, I have now spun the hair of multiple breeds of dogs, cats, angora rabbit, alpaca, and sheep, using a spinning wheel and multiple types of spindles.
